Since 1988 I have been working in the development of software applications on the IBM iSeries computer (AS/400). Throughout this time I have specialised in software for the General Insurance industry. Here's a summary of my most recent roles.
Senior Systems Developer - Legal & General Insurance
Main responsibilities and recent projects include:
Conversion of INSURE90 application programs to RPG IV language and upgrade of CREATE90 to Create+.
Infrastructure project to extend Key database fields for increased capacity.
Integration of a Seagull JWalk GUI application to INSURE90.
Conversion of another insurer's database to L&G's INSURE90 application.
Development of bespoke system, application and change control tools.
Consultant (contract) - Zurich Insurance Japan (1999 - 2002)
Main responsibilities included:
Design and development of a replacement Claims system within Polisy/400 application (Cobol/400 based general insurance package).
Enhancements and support of Polisy/400 and Life/400 applications.
Systems analysis for enhancement projects.
Senior Programmer/Team Leader - PMS Creative (1990 - 1999)
On-site based INSURE90 developer assigned to various clients.
Independent Insurance (Paris): Year 2000 compliance project and implementation of a Broker Statistics package.
AGF Irish Life (Dublin): Year 2000 compliance project and multiple upgrades to CREATE90 environment.
Wellington Motor Policies (B'ham): Upgrade of client's INSURE90 to latest version.
General Accident (Perth): Technical analysis for Invitation to Tender project.
Wren Group: Programmer on 2 x Data Conversion projects.
IBM Image & Workflow Solutions: Development of an interface with IBM's Image package for Admiral Insurance.
